Despite the last two rainy days, springtime is in full swing here in Berlin, so I´d like to celebrate with some swinging early french rock´n´roll. No idea how this turned up in Prague, but that´s where I bought this 45 a couple of years ago. Great dual vocals by Maria Velasco and Jean-Pierre Sasson, backed by swing jazz veteran Jaques Diéval!

Probably the best “Rock and Ruby” I’ve ever heard..In a completely different universe from the other boring jazz I’ve heard from Dieval.Further proof that not only Sam Butera,Earl Bostic, and Joe Houston could blow like that.Another 45/78/EP I need to track down.
Those Polydor sleeves are common.A lot of them turn up in the US,no doubt because of all the American service men in Germany at the time, but I have the only Polydor record store paper bag I have ever sen from the 50s,or early 60s. It has similar pictures on it.
