PERSIL 65, Rhythmus 65

This bright green Flexi-disc was distributed to retail sellers and independent shops that sold the new Persil 65 washing powder. By answering three questions about the information heard on the record, these tradespeople could win two cars, a motor scooter or “31thousand other lovely gifts”. The first prize was a trip around the world.
Just like the sound of 1968 of GASAG and the Silk-Weavers of Krefeld sounded more like 1960, the uncredited group that recorded PERSIL`s Rhythm 65 sounded much more like 1955.
Well, swinging 1955 at least…

About me:
My name is Andreas Michalke. I´m a cartoonist from Berlin, Germany and I like collecting records. Most of the records I find in thrift stores or at flea markets here in Berlin. I like a lot of music but I thought I`d focus on odd German records. Preferably with cartoon covers.

Habe grade einen Haufen Flexis digitalisiert und die wollte ich auch in den nächsten Wochen posten. Allerdings glaube ich nicht, dass sie an Kunden verteilt wurde, sondern nur an Händler, damit die sich verstärkt um den Absatz des Waschmittels kümmern.

Danke für den Hinweis. Stimmt natürlich. Das Preisausschreiben war nur für die Händler und die konnten dann einen der “31-tausend reizvollen Preise” gewinnen. Ganz schön viele Preise!

Great collection of images Andreas! I remember a friend visiting Lyntone in Britain in the 80s, who had thousand’s of the flexi discs they produced, in an archive. Sad to say when the company closed it was all thrown away.
